Drawings

While admiring drawings and artwork online, I am amazed at the talent that roams the earth. I lack that talent, but have recently incorporated drawing into my life to largely capture moments. I enjoy using different modes to seize life and share it in unique ways. I cannot say that I have seen an average artist share their works of art, but, here goes…

A Simple Drawing of a Stapeler?

- Well not quite. Yes, it screams simple and basic, but this is my first drawing with my non-dominant hand which was a pleasant surprise.

Curious Gorge Mug Drawing - with label-jpg.jpg

Curious Gorge Mug -

Coffee is a darn good thing, especially, when you have two Curious Gorge Mugs. A reference to the Columbia River Gorge (Washington/Oregon) and a reminder of life in Oregon.

Kleenex Box -

Timing can provide a truly interesting angle to any story. My mother made her first request for a drawing as she gazed at the colorful kleenex box. That night she would take a fall and break her hip. This drawing would greet her in room 306.

Minutes Before Being Wheeled Into Surgery -

Roughly etched onto a scrap piece of paper using the only available writing utensil (pen), held in my hand (no surface to place paper onto). I have to smile at this attempt. I was very fortunate that the cute nurse allowed me into the staging room until it was time for dad to be wheeled away and the sharp instruments made their appearance.

More than any other sketch, this takes me back to a moment in time that was crucial.

Melting Cactus -

How about record temperatures for July, August, and September? Yep, the warmest summer, ever, in the sweltering desert.

While at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital -

I have gotten into the habit of drawing while spending time in various hospitals, doctor, physical therapy offices, etc. as my parents go through some health issues.

Quality is lacking, there is a
theme around handiness while using a score card pencil snagged from a local golf course.
